What use can it be? Well... suppose there is a campaign set in a starving nation, where the poor are always hungry? However, I needed it to create the weapon in my next post.

Sense Hunger and Thirst

You sense the hunger and thirst of those nearby, feeling it in the air around you. You can detect creatures that are suffering from the effects of starvation and thirst within 30 feet, and you immediately know how much damage they suffered from their condition.
You determine the creatures’ approximate direction from you, though you do not sense a given creature’s identity or know which squares the creatures occupy. If you’re within 5 feet of a creature whose hunger or thirst you sense, you pinpoint that creature’s location, as if using blindsense.
