Mythic Rogue Talents from the Advanced Player’s Guide

There are too many rogue talents to mythicize them all at once. Little by little I’ll write them all.

This post already appeared for patrons only on my Patreon page. If you wish to see stuff in advance and have access to other rewards, please consider donating!

New Rogue Mythic Talents

Mythic Assault Leader (Ex): As an immediate or swift action, the rogue may expend a use of mythic power to use the assault leader talent, even if she has already used it that day. Additionally, any time she uses assault leader, she can designate two suitable allies to receive the benefits of this talent.

Mythic Befuddling Strike* (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum +1) to the number of rounds during which a foe hit by her sneak attack suffers a penalty on attacks against her. Additionally, she may expend one use of mythic power to give a foe hit by her sneak attack the same penalty on attacks against all her allies.

Mythic Camouflage (Ex): The rogue only needs a standard action to prepare her camouflage, and automatically succeeds at all Stealth checks while within terrain that matches the foliage used to make the camouflage. If the rogue fails a saving throw that would cause her to lose her camouflage, she can expend one use of mythic power to roll again. She must take the second roll’s result, even if it’s lower.

Mythic Canny Observer (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the bonus gained. She can expend one use of mythic power to automatically succeed at a Perception skill check that can be affected by the canny observer talent.

Mythic Charmer (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the charmer talent.

Mythic Coax Information (Ex): The rogue adds her mythic tier to her Bluff or Diplomacy skill check when using coax information.

Mythic Combat Swipe: The rogue gains Mythic Improved Steal as a bonus mythic feat.

Mythic Cunning Trigger (Ex): The rogue can also set off traps in the area that someone else constructed.

Mythic Distracting Attack* (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her mythic tier (minimum 1) to the number of rounds a target remains flat-footed, and may designate herself to gain the benefit of this talent.

Mythic Expert Leaper (Ex): When falling, the rogue is always under the effect of feather fall.

Mythic Fast Fingers (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the fast fingers talent.

Mythic Fast Getaway (Ex): The rogue can move up to double her speed when using fast getaway.

Mythic Fast Picks (Ex): The rogue can open a lock with Disable Device as a swift action.

Mythic Follow Clues (Ex): The rogue adds her mythic tier to her Perception skill check when using follow clues.

Mythic Guileful Polyglot (Ex): The rogue gains double the listed number of bonus languages.

Mythic Hard To Fool (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the hard to fool talent.

Mythic Honeyed Words (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the honeyed words talent.

Mythic Lasting Poison (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her mythic tier (minimum 1) to the number of attacks the applied poison lasts for. This stacks with the non-mythic lasting poison talent. Additionally, targets don’t receive bonus on saves against a mythic lasting poison.

Mythic Nimble Climber (Ex): The rogue adds her mythic tier as a bonus on Climb skill checks. Additionally, she can expend one use of mythic power to automatically succeed at a Climb check.

Mythic Offensive Defense* (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her mythic tier (minimum 1) to the number of rounds for which she keeps her dodge bonus to AC.

Mythic Peerless Maneuver (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the peerless maneuver talent.

Mythic Positioning Attack (Ex): The rogue can move up to her speed when using positioning attack, and can end her movement in any space she chooses.

Mythic Powerful Sneak (Ex): The rogue treats all 1s and 2s on the sneak attack damage dice as 3s when using powerful sneak.

Mythic Quick Disguise (Ex): The rogue only needs a standard action to prepare a disguise.

Mythic Quick Trapsmith (Ex): The rogue only needs a standard action to set a trap, and it can have a CR equal to her rogue level.

Mythic Snap Shot (Ex): The rogue gains the benefits of the snap shot talent for a number of round after the surprise round equal to ½ her mythic tier (minimum 1).

Mythic Sniper’s Eye (Ex): The rogue can apply her sneak attack damage to foes within 60 feet that have concealment. Additionally, by expending one use of mythic power, she can treat a target with total concealment as if it had just normal concealment against her sneak attack.

Mythic Strong Impression: The rogue gains Mythic Intimidating Prowess as a bonus mythic feat.

Mythic Survivalist: The rogue adds her mythic tier on her Heal and Survival skill checks.

Mythic Swift Poison (Ex): Anytime the rogue makes an attack with a weapon she could poison (including attacks of opportunity), she may poison that weapon as a swift action.

New Rogue Mythic Advanced Talents

Mythic Another Day (Ex): As an immediate or swift action, the rogue may expend a use of mythic power to use the another day talent, even if she has already used it that day. Additionally, any time she uses another day, she is no more staggered in the round after moving.

Mythic Deadly Cocktail (Ex): If the rogue combines two different poisons, both have their frequency extended by 50% and their save DC increased by +2; if the rogue uses two doses of the same poison, the victim is affected separately by each dose.

Mythic Deadly Sneak* (Ex):  The rogue treats all 1s, 2s, and 3s on the sneak attack damage dice as 4s.

Mythic Entanglement of Blades* (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum +1) to the number of rounds during which a foe hit by her sneak attack cannot take a 5-foot step.

Mythic Fast Tumble (Ex): The rogue can move at full speed through a threatened square even if her speed is reduced.

Mythic Frugal Trapsmith (Ex): The rogue only pays 50% of the normal cost for mechanical traps she constructs.

Mythic Hunter’s Surprise (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her mythic tier (minimum 1) to the number of rounds for which she benefits from hunter’s surprise, and may expend one use of mythic power to designate an ally within 30 feet to gain the benefit of this talent.

Mythic Knock-Out Blow (Ex): The rogue adds her tier to the target's save DC. Additionally, she may expend a use of mythic power to use the knock-out blow talent, even if she has already used it that day.

Mythic Master of Disguise (Ex): The rogue can automatically succeed at her Disguise check. Additionally, she may expend a use of mythic power to use the non-mythic master of disguise talent, even if she has already used it that day.

Mythic Redirect Attack (Ex): The rogue adds ½ her tier (minimum 1) to the number of times per day she can use the redirect attack talent.

Mythic Stealthy Sniper (Ex): The rogue doesn’t suffer any penalty when using the Stealth skill to snipe.

New Rogue Talents: Slayer Talent & Advanced Slayer Talent

Slayers can take some rogue talents but rogues can’t do the opposite. It’s not fair, don’t you think?

Revised Rogue Talents for Familiars

I think it’s great that a rogue can have a familiar, though it must wait until 12th level to gain the Familiar advanced talent.

But why should an Eldritch Scoundrel (a rogue with arcane powers and spells) have to wait so much as well, when a magus can get a familiar at 3rd level instead?! And what about multiclass rogues/arcane casters?

So I reskinned and added to these. Enjoy.

Rogue Talents

Familiar (Ex): A rogue with this talent gains a familiar as the familiar option of the wizard’s arcane bond class feature. This ability functions exactly like that part of the class feature, but the rogue’s effective wizard level is her rogue level –4. The rogue must be able to cast 1st-level arcane spells before she can choose this talent. If the rogue already has a familiar from another source, she can instead add her rogue levels to her equivalent wizard level to calculate her familiar’s abilities. This is a normal rogue talent, not an advanced talent. This talent is also available to investigators and slayers to select.

Rogue Advanced Talents

Improved Familiar (Ex): The rogue gains Improved Familiar as a bonus feat. The rogue must have a familiar -either from the familiar rogue talent or some other source- in order to gain this advanced talent. Slayers can select this as an advanced slayer talent.

Familiar Talent Fixed For Arcane Casting Rogues

Why should an Eldritch Scoundrel wait until 12th level and expend 3 of her 5 rogue talents in order to get a familiar, while a magus can get one at 3rd level spending one magus arcana only? That is the question. And this is my answer.
