Beast Hybrid Races
Beast hybrids are descendants of humans mutated by powerful magic or exposure to raw magic fields. Though all kind of hybrids have some traits in common, nonetheless they are treated here as separate races. All hybrids are humanoids with the hybrid subtype.
Bat Hybrids (Advanced Race, 11 RP)
Type: Humanoid (hybrid) (0 RP)
Size: Small (0 RP)
Speed: Slow (-1 RP) 20 ft.
Ability Score Modifiers: Mixed Weakness (-2 RP) -2 Str, +2 Dex, -4 Int, +2 Wis.
Languages: Linguist (1 RP) Bat hybrids begin game speaking Common. They can learn any languages they want as bonus languages if they have a high Intelligence score (except Druidic and other secret languages)
Movement Racial Traits
Gliding Wings (3 RP): Bat hybrids take no damage from falling (as if subject to a constant non-magical feather fall spell). While in midair, members of this race can move up to 5 feet in any horizontal direction for every 1 foot they fall, at a speed of 60 feet per round. A bat hybrid with gliding wings cannot gain height with these wings alone; it merely coasts in other directions as it falls. If subjected to a strong wind or any other effect that causes a creature with gliding wings to rise, it can take advantage of the updraft to increase the distance it can glide.
Senses Racial Traits
Blindsight 30 ft. (Monstrous Trait, 6 RP): Bat hybrids can use echolocation to “see in the darkness”. Bat hybrids can use this trait even if they are not a monstrous race.
Scent (Advanced Trait, 4 RP): Bat hybrids gain the scent ability.
