Lion-Kin Laguz (Advanced Race, 12 RP)

Lion-kin are a laguz race of humanoids able to assume the form of a lion (“laguz” means “changer” in their world’s language). When in normal form they appear as humans with catlike ears and sometimes a lion tail; they are taller and more muscular than cat-kin laguz, but leaner than tiger-kin laguz. Lion-kin form communities and are adept to group work, and are recognized as nobles and royalty by other laguz subraces. Lion-kin laguz have the following racial traits:

Ability Score Modifiers: Specialized (1 RP) +2 Str, +2 Dex, -2 Wis.

Roar (2 RP): Once per hour as a standard action, a lion-kin laguz can emit a thunderous roar. Any creature within 30 feet except other laguz must make a successful Will saving throw (DC 10 + ½ the user’s character level + the user’s Charisma modifier) or become shaken for 1d4 rounds. A target that successfully saves cannot be affected by the user’s roar for 24 hours. Creatures that are already shaken become frightened for 1d4 rounds instead. This is a sonic, mind-affecting effect and replaces lycanthropic resistance.
