New Wizard Elemental Arcane School: Light

Light represents good, charm, knowledge, purity, and clarity of mind. Wizards who specialize in this school are often confused with clerics of good, but are not necessarily of a good alignment.

A wizard who specializes in the light element gains a number of school powers and one bonus spell slot of each level that the wizard can cast, from 1st on up. This bonus spell slot must be used to prepare a spell from the light elemental school’s spell list. Unlike a normal arcane school, the light elemental school requires the wizard to select the void elemental school as his opposition school. A wizard must expend two spell slots to prepare a spell from the void elemental school as normal. He does not need to select a second opposition school.


Light Magic: At 1st level, add the following spells to your wizard spell list at the listed spell level: 2nd- blinding ray, light lance, moonbeam, 3rd- searing light, 4th- blade of light, burst with light, 6th- blazing rainbow, 7th- morning sun, sunbeam


Light Supremacy (Su): You gain a +2 enhancement bonus on Perception checks. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 wizard levels you have. In addition, you can cast light at will as a spell-like ability that uses your caster level. At 5th level, you gain darkvision in a 60 ft. radius. At 10th level, you gain a +4 bonus on saving throws against dazzling and blinding effects. At 20th level, you become immune to the dazzled condition, blindness, and illusion spells and effects that rely on sight.


Rainbow Halo (Su): You can surround yourself with a multicolored aura that shifts continuously in hue, granting you concealment (20% miss chance) for 1 minute. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.


Power of the Sun (Su): At 8th level, all spells you cast with the light descriptor are automatically affected as if by the Solar Spell metamagic feat, but with no increase in spell level.

2nd- blinding ray, blur, burst of radiance, continual flame, corpse lanterns, detect thoughts, enchantment sight, fear the sun, flickering lights, fox’s cunning, hypnotic pattern, light lance, light prison, moonbeam, pyrotechnics, revealing light, spear of purity

3rd- arcane sight, campfire wall, dark-light, daylight, mass dazzling blade, motes of dusk and dawn, pierce disguise, searing light, silverlight, spotlight, stolen light, sunstalker, wall of split illumination

4th- blade of light, brightest light, burst with light, greater hypnotism, inhibiting patterns, moonstruck, mydriatic spontaneity, rainbow pattern, unbearable brightness, wandering star motes

5th- scintillating wall, telepathic bond, thoughtsense, wall of light

6th- blazing rainbow, chains of light, mass fox’s cunning, telepathy, true seeing, wall of silver

7th- greater arcane sight, mass mydriatic spontaneity, morning sun, prismatic spray, sunbeam

8th- prismatic wall, scintillating pattern, sunburst

9th- prismatic sphere
