Mercane Associate (Wizard)

These mercantile wizards are educated by true mercanes in the business of selling and buying magic items. They adventure primarily to acquire such items for interdimensional trade. 


Alignment: A mercane associate must be Lawful Neutral. A mercane associate who ceases to be lawful neutral loses his employee discount. 


Skills: Mercane associates add Bluff, Diplomacy, and Sense Motive to their list of class skills and lose 3 knowledge skills (player’s choice) as class skills. 


Secret Chest (Sp)

A mercane associate can retrieve or hide an extradimensional storage chest, as the secret chest spell, with a caster level equal to his wizard level. The mercane associate does not need an expensive replica chest to use this ability; any chest will do. He can only use this ability on one chest at a time. Mercane associates are expected to provide their own chests. 

This replaces arcane bond. 


Trade School (Su)

In place of a degree at a standard arcane school, a mercane associate is certified in the business methods of mercanes. 


Employee Discount (Ex): Once per level, you can purchase a magic item from a true mercane at a 20% discount. 


Silver-Tongued Haggler (Su): Whenever you make a Bluff, Diplomacy, or Sense Motive check, you can, as a free action, grant yourself a bonus on the roll equal to 1/2 your wizard level (minimum +1). You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.


Dimensional Hop (Sp): At 6th level, you can teleport up to 10 feet per wizard level per day as a move action. This teleportation must be used in 5-foot increments and such movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. You must have line of sight to your destination to use this ability. You can bring other willing creatures with you, but you must expend an equal amount of distance for each creature brought.

This replaces arcane school.
